Start the car and immediately, but gently, drive away. Don’t leave your car idling. Today’s cars don’t need to warm up.
Start slowly, avoiding rapid acceleration. Jack-rabbit starts are terrible fuel wasters.
Aim to maintain a constant speed. Every time you pump the accelerator, you are pumping more fuel into the engine.

Drive at posted speed limits - that’s a tip that may save a life as well as fuel.

Save gas on A/C

Minimize the use of the air conditioning system. Rather than run it continuously, use the vent setting as much as possible.

When you get to your destination, park in the shade to reduce the need for using the air conditioner.

Avoid piling a lot of luggage on the roof rack. The added weight on the frontal area drags on the car and will hurt fuel economy.

Don’t drive with your windows wide open. That increases aerodynamic drag at highway speeds and lowers fuel economy.

Save fuel

Have a professional align your front wheels. Wheels that are pointing in the same direction fight with each other, wasting fuel (and tires).

Check your tire pressure. Underinflated tires increase rolling resistance and reduce fuel economy. Also, underinflated tires wear rapidly. Check the vehicle’s door-post sticker for minimum cold tire inflation pressure.

Use good quality, energy-conserving (EC) oils in the engine, with viscosity grade recommended in your Owner’s Guide. Look for cans marked with the symbol “ECII,” which is the American Society of Testing Material logo for fuel-efficient oils.

Make sure your engine is tuned up to keep your car running efficiently and save gas.
Use a fuel with good detergent additives to help keep the engine clean and performing efficiently.

Save Gas

Filling up with the most expensive grade of gas does not necessarily make your engine run better. Use a high-quality fuel with an octane rating appropriate for your vehicle. Use the lowest octane possible. Check your Owner’s Guide for the manufacturer’s recommendation.

Don’t skip on maintenance. Be serious about auto care. Your car’s performance depends on it.

You can improve your car’s gas mileage by 1 percent to 2 percent by using the manufacturer’s recommended grade of motor oil. Opt for motor oil with the words “energy conserving” on the API performance label. This oil contains friction-reducing additives.

Maybe you’ve heard about new product – a gas pill, which you put into every full tank of your vehicle and supposedly reduces your fuel costs for 10-20%. After so much of hard pressed marketing for this product and allegations that it truly works, three men from Oklahoma have decided to test the pill in old fashion way – on the road. And what they reveal on their site http://www.gas-pill-test.com is not what they expected!

David, 38 years old electrical engineer from Oklahoma, has seen TV advert for gas pill which supposedly reduces your gas costs for 10-20% percent. As David being skeptic he decided that he must thoroughly test the gas pill to prove its benefits. He invited his neighbor, a real estate agent Danilo, and Danilo’s cousin Jure, currently visiting USA, to join him on this quest.

The car they tested the gas pill with was family mini van. It was decided by men that testing will be conducted on local highway approximately 100 miles in one direction and 100 miles back, all the time with constant speed of 65 miles per hour.

On the first test run without the gas pill the average MPG was around 23. On the second run testers received a huge blow as the pill improved MPG for only 4%. “What a disappointment!” said David when they left further testing for good. But the story does not end here!

After one week David, when reading the gas pill instructions again, realized that they didn’t follow the manufacturer instructions. The gas pills can start working only after 2-4 full tanks. Only after his wife used a car for a week and filled the tank every time with 2 pills David tried the test run again.

And to his surprise, the average MPG increased to 30.6, an astonishing 20% improvement. Nobody of three testers could believe their own eyes. This type of pill could actually save a person 1.000 of gas dollars per year, not to mention how much a business which is depending on fuel, like trucking would save.

Be sure to check David’s gas pill test site on http://www.gas-pill-test.com to learn about the benefits of the gas pill. Or either join the marketing of this wonderful product with Danilo & Jure, they are making some serious dollars as the product sells actually by it self. Read more about it on their website: http://www.lower-gas-costs.com. Who does not want to lower his gas costs?
